Tour description

Explore the edge of the Sahara Desert on a 3-day tour starting from Marrakech and then explore the breathtaking landscapes of Dades Valley and Kasbah of Ouarzazate. Ride through the dunes in Erg Chebbi with a camel and rest in an oasis camp, with sand dunes that rise to the sky.

Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Marrakech – Ait Ben Haddou – Tinghir

Following an early morning departure from the Marrakech accommodation, the trip starts by traversing through the High Atlas Mountains past one Berber village after another, until Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site of Ait Ben Haddou, famous for its Kasbah and fortified village and was previously used as a backdrop for famous Hollywood epics and also as a backdrop to some fashion magazine photo shoots.

After some time to wander around the village and its Kasbah and Kasbah, you can eat lunch at one of the local restaurants, then continue on your way through Ouarzazate which is often referred to as”the Gate of the Sahara, and on to Boumalne Dades, admiring the beautiful scenery along the way until Tinghir in which you can have dinner as well as the night.

Day 2: Tinghir – Todgha Gorges – Merzouga

After breakfast, you will leave the hotel and head towards the spectacular Todgha Gorges. Stop in the canyons, and take a lunch break in a local café. Continue on to Merzouga where you will meet the caravan of camels.

Experience then the Erg Chebbi dunes riding on camelback, and witness the sunset transform the hue of the dunes. Get to your desert camp before the darkness falls and you can enjoy a traditional Moroccan dinner in the open air. Nomads from the local area will give you entertainment and will show them how you can play Tam Tam drums. Have a delicious meal and an overnight stay.

Day 3: Merzouga Ouarzazate – Marrakech

On the third day of our Marrakech desert tour, witness an early Erg Chebbi sunrise and then ride a camel. Your guide will drive you back to Marrakech through the Volcanic landscapes of the Anti-Atlas Mountains to the village of Nkob.

In Ouarzazate,  you will have the time to visit a film Studio if you see it convenient. However, you will enjoy your lunch in this magnificent city. In the afternoon, start your journey through the High Atlas Mountains and Tizi Ntichka pass.

And here comes an end to it! Your 3 days desert tour will end at your hotel or accommodation in Marrakech.
